NEW YORK UNITED TOUR

Two of the most influential bands in the history of hardcore music, New York's Sick Of It All and Agnostic Front will be touring Australia together this May on the "New York United Tour".

Sick Of It All are celebrating their 25th year as a band. In honor of this achievement they recently released "Non Stop" - an album of re-recordings of classic hits. With 9 studio albums to their name and still exhibiting as much energy as the day they started, Sick Of It All are showing no signs of slowing down.

Since 1982, Agnostic Front has been amongst the most venerable and notorious outcasts of the New York hardcore movement. The 2 records that started it all, United Blood and Victim in Pain, are legendary releases and were partially responsible for the hardcore genre itself.

Rounding out the bill is Sydney's Toe To Toe. Over nearly two decades the tale to Toe To Toe has been rooted in survival, struggle and conviction. Forming at a time when many felt real hardcore punk rock had enjoyed it’s day the band rallied against trends and reared up in the face of fashion to become Sydney’s proudest exponents of a form of music that remains well and truly on the outside.

This April, riot starting, bouncer bashing, cop baiting, hotel trashing, foul talking, noise making, chaos causing, venue wrecking, government hating, rule breaking, piss taking, unrelenting, punk rock band THE EXPLOITED bring their politically charged live show to East Coast Australia and Auckland.

The Exploited are not \\\'punkers\\\' or any of the other cutesy, watered down, TV friendly names you might want to call them. The Exploited are punk rock.

Formed in 1979, the quartet created a simple, no-frills sound characterized by speed and aggression. Led by vocalist Wattie Buchan, The Exploited is one of the UK’s most politically outspoken thrash bands, who has built a strong and loyal following both at home and abroad for its anti-authoritarian stance and criticism of the government, particularly in the Reagan/Thatcher era.

In 1980, the group founded its own independent record label, Exploited Record Company, and immediately released their debut EP Army Life, which was #6 in the independent charts for eight weeks, and the top 20 for an amazing 18 months. They then released another single, \\\"Barmy Army\\\", which immediately jumped into the independent charts and remained there for 53 weeks, peaking at #4. In 1981 the band signed to Secret Records and released the single \\\"Dogs of War\\\", which peaked at #2 in the independent charts and #63 in the national charts.

1982 saw the release of The Exploited\\\'s first genuine classic album \\\'Troops Of Tomorrow\\\' (#17), which ten years later was to see a medley of three tracks (most notably \\\'UK82\\\' changed to \\\'LA92\\\') covered by thrash metal band, Slayer, and US rapper Ice-T, for the \\\'Judgement Night\\\' soundtrack. The homage was just further proof of the immeasurable influence that punk bands like The Exploited have had on the thrash metal scene. In fact, it can be argued that without them, there would be no Metallica, Slayer or Slipknot.

In over two decades The Exploited have been tear gassed by German cops, banned from Holland, arrested in Spain, declared that the Falklands are British forever whilst on stage in Argentina and have caused more carnage than a multi-car pile up on the M1. Throughout that time they have remained steadfastly true to their roots, never selling out, never splitting up (despite numerous line-up changes) and never bowing down. They\\\'ve been accused of being dumb (yes, sometimes, but wilfully so) and causing trouble (guilty again, but smashing stuff is fun and punks are supposed to be obnoxious). But The Exploited are also fiercely (not to mention bluntly) socially and politically aware, covering everything from the Criminal Justice Act to the increasing use of Big Brother CCTV and never wavering from their anti-authoritarian, anti-war stance.

Guttermouth Aussie Tour 2012

They concluded one of the longest Australian tours by any international act in 2010 and now Guttermouth are returning to their second home to do an extended tour of the East Coast of Australia.
Straight out of Huntington Beach, California; Guttermouth have been stirring controversy for almost 25 years with few bands matching the intensity on stage and off. They have seen the rise and fall of many of their punk rock contemporaries, all the while managing to maintain their explicit in-your-face attitude in the name of good fun. In 2010 they sold out shows all over Australia, Japan & Thailand. In January they will drive all the way up the east coast - starting in Geelong and making the journey up to far north Queensland before taking off to Japan & Europe, making this the biggest tour in their history.

On the Victorian leg of the tour Guttermouth are joined by 28 Days who will play three tour shows in their home state. Currently anticipating an album release early next year, 28 Days kick off the tour on Wednesday the 18th of January at The National Hotel in Geelong, teaming up with Guttermouth; the band that continue to cross the line that shouldn’t be crossed and remind all us jaded assholes why we fell in love with punk rock in the first place.

The Pogues Australian Tour

The Pogues have been an indelible high watermark on the fickle tide of popular music for the last 30 years. Lead by the charismatic Shane MacGowan, The Pogues command an army of die-hard fans the world over, captivated by the power and conviction of
one of the last true punk rock bands. For Australian members of said legion, the 23 year wait to see The Pogues on home shores will soon to be over, with the band - including Shane MacGowan, Jem Finer, Spider Stacy, James Fearnley, Darryl Hunt, Andrew Ranken, Philip Chevron, Terry Woods - announcing their first Australian tour since 1989.

The Pogues, or Pogue Mahone (kiss my arse in Gaelic) as they were then known, came kicking and screaming into the world in 1982 when founding members Shane MacGowan, Peter 'Spider' Stacy, Jem Finer and James Fearnley united for a show in Kings Cross, London. From the outset it was clear to see that this band were something different. Whilst hordes of young hopefuls at the time were cranking amplifiers and expounding the politically charged lyrical fixations of punk rock, The Pogues instead did away with thrashing about on electric guitars and mustered their power through an arsenal of traditional Irish instrumentation and folk storytelling- creating a genre so entirely their own it would become legend.

The seminal album Red Roses for Me soon followed, and with the follow-up Rum Sodomy & the Lash, critical accolades began to appear for front man MacGowan as he hit his lyrical straps- and in doing so became known as one of the most poetically adept storytellers of his generation. The next two albums - If I Should Fall from Grace with God and Peace and Love- brought the band commercial success, but cracks soon began to appear resulting in MacGowan being cast adrift immediately after the recording of the band's 1990 studio effort Hell's Ditch.

The band continued on with punk godfather Joe Strummer filling in for MacGowan for a time, until Spider Stacy took on the bands vocal duties. Two further albums were recorded, being Waiting For Herb and Pogue Mahone, before the band decided to call last drinks in 1996. Just over a decade after MacGowan's departure The Pogues reconvened in 2001 with their front man refreshed, yet as wild as ever, and this April will bring their own brand of fiery, literate, celtic punk rock to Australia.
